Fuel Your Business with Kindness!

November 24, 2018

Tis' the season to be Thankful... and relish in the Kindness we give and receive from our loved ones, friends and colleagues.

At SimpliProfit, kindness holds a significant place in our values, and perfectly represents our brand as a whole. It is in every fiber we breathe, and is stitched through the layers of our business. While only a small thread, it is everything to Herron, CEO of SimpliProfit.

Many perceive kindness as grande gestures, however, kindness comes in many forms. It is as simply as a smile, opening the door for another, listening longer than our attention span can handle, and sharing good news and happiness with others. Though it doesn't stop there. It is also a matter of openly showing happiness and pride for those who have received a promotion, or congratulating someone who executed a flawless speaking engagement; teaching younger staff a skill that they could use throughout their career. Kindness is about you, taking a moment of your time to show someone just how important they are. At the end of the day, let’s face it, as Herron states, "business is about people!"

Most of us have heard the saying - “Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness.” A short sentence that seems to speak a thousand words. We have linked an article below that delves into this, explaining why kindness is not weakness.

You will see that by making kindness a big part of your workday, it will outweigh the alternative of spending a long day with unhappy people. The latter will only put a damper on your business creativity, innovation and collaboration.

Below are articles by professionals who know about kindness. Let’s start today and incorporate this value openly within our organizations, on our weekends and in our every day lives! :)

Note: This article does not suggest people are not kind . Herron is daring greatly on writing on a subject that wouldn't normally be discussed in business.

1. The Importance of Kindness

“While kindness has a connotation of meaning someone is naive or weak, that is not the case. Being kind often requires courage and strength. Kindness is an interpersonal skill”, stated by Karyn Hall Ph.D.

2. The Benefits of Kindness

3. Being Kind is Not the Same as Being Nice

By Hannah Braime, “Being kind does not always look like being ‘nice.’ Having a ‘pleasant disposition’ does not mean always making other people happy. Sometimes kindness means disappointing other people, even making them angry.”

So let's make this an important part of our daily business and personal lives all year round. It is a choice! In the end we will all reap the benefits. And who doesn't want to feel good about our day no matter how much or what we have accomplished.
